Kennels on Queen Mary 2
With a dedicated outdoor area, escorted embarkation, and even a professional portrait, Queen Mary 2’s kennels are thoughtfully designed to give cats and dogs the reassurance, comfort, and care they need while crossing the Atlantic.

Complimentary kennel amenities
Mirroring the care found in our staterooms and suites, the kennels include a range of considered complimentary comforts. Climate-controlled air conditioning maintains a pleasant environment, while a soft fleece blanket provides a snug place to rest. Each four-legged guest is also gifted a fitted coat to take home as a keepsake of their voyage.

Pet safety and wellbeing
The wellbeing of every guest on board is paramount — including our much-loved pets. Each animal is provided with a lifejacket upon boarding. Should an emergency alarm ever sound, you’ll be able to collect your pet from the kennels and accompany them to your designated muster station.

Kennel reservations
Kennels are offered on Transatlantic Crossings to or from Southampton, New York, or Hamburg aboard Queen Mary 2. Space is available exclusively for cats and dogs and can only be reserved alongside an eligible guest booking. Once your voyage is confirmed, availability and reservations can be arranged by contacting our Customer Contact Centre or emailing kennels@cunard.com.

Feeding pets on board
Ahead of your sailing, we’ll contact you with details of the pet food brands stocked on board to support your pet’s usual routine. If preferred, you’re welcome to bring your own food. Feeding can be handled by you or by the Kennel Master, and freshly prepared options such as cooked chicken, vegetables, and broth may also be requested during the voyage.

More about kennels
Kennels guests are also invited to enjoy a complimentary portrait session with the ship’s photographer alongside the Kennel Master. Dressed in Cunard’s iconic red bellhop uniform, the Kennel Master is joined by a selection of charming props — including a Queen Mary 2 lifebuoy, a Cunard jacket, and a miniature bellhop hat — for a truly memorable keepsake.

Kennel capacity
For almost 200 years, Cunard has welcomed animals on board, a tradition proudly continued on Queen Mary 2’s Transatlantic Crossings. Her air-conditioned kennel facilities accommodate up to 24 pets per sailing, each benefiting from complimentary comforts designed to promote calm and relaxation at sea.

Kennels deck area
Situated on Deck 12, the kennels include direct access to an outdoor exercise space where pets can enjoy fresh sea air and stretch their legs. Playful touches such as a New York fire hydrant and a Liverpool lamp post create a dedicated area for comfort breaks whenever needed.
