Queen Mary 2 – the last ocean liner at sea
Engineered for strength, speed, and true ocean-going performance, Queen Mary 2 was created for long-distance voyages. As the world’s last genuine ocean liner, she stands in a class entirely her own. Continuing a tradition that began in 1840, she still operates regular passenger crossings between Europe and North America. Her advanced propulsion and stabilisation systems enable higher cruising speeds and confident handling of demanding Atlantic conditions.
Illuminations
Found only on our flagship, Illuminations is one of Queen Mary 2’s most remarkable spaces. Tiered, reclining seats invite you to look upwards as the venue hosts Cunard Insights talks and other events in a setting unlike any other at sea. Its signature capability is transforming into a planetarium-style experience, guiding guests on immersive journeys through the cosmos. G32
Named after Queen Mary 2’s original hull number, G32 is a two-level nightclub exclusive to the flagship. Enjoy a full bar menu, dance to sets from the resident DJ, or take a break in relaxed seating between songs. Often the final venue to close for the night, G32 welcomes guests long after much of the ship has settled down.
Kennels
Queen Mary 2 is among the very few ships worldwide to offer purpose-built kennels, allowing cats and dogs to travel comfortably on Transatlantic Crossings. Located on Deck 12, the kennels include an outdoor exercise area complete with a Liverpool lamp post and a New York fire hydrant, offering pets fresh air and a familiar touch during their voyage.
Sheltered balcony staterooms
Queen Mary 2 is the only ship in the fleet to feature sheltered balconies in selected Britannia Staterooms. Set closer to the waterline, these balconies bring you nearer to the sea while their partially enclosed design offers extra protection from the elements. As with all Britannia accommodation, guests enjoy Cunard’s signature complimentary touches—right down to the nightly chocolate placed on your pillow.
Lookout
Located at the forward of Queen Mary 2, The Lookout is a sheltered outdoor observation post offering panoramic views out to sea from the highest point on the ship. Found on Deck 13, directly above the Bridge where the Captain is stationed, this unique space – the only one of its kind on our fleet – provides a perfect vantage point from which to enjoy ever-changing vistas while protected from the elements.
Cuff links
Queen Mary 2’s “Commodore’s cuff links” – as they’re affectionately known – are an iconic feature of our flagship. Located on the Observation Deck (Deck 11), these avant-garde steel structures are often mistaken for a sculpture installation. In truth, these “cuff links” are actually spare propellers, but mounted as they are in full public view they take on an architectural quality that never fails to attract admiring glances.
Fairways
Fairways is a dream find for golf enthusiasts sailing on Queen Mary 2. Offering a chance to flex your swing in any weather, here you can swing your way through a lifelike selection of world-renowned golf courses, joining the ranks of the sport’s finest. With experience levels for all abilities, this immersive experience is a great way to brush up on your technique or indulge your favourite passion. Minnows Pool
Located at the aft of Deck 6, Minnows Pool is a dedicated splash pool on Queen Mary 2 designed with little Cunarders in mind. You’ll find this family-friendly space on an outside deck, conveniently positioned just in front of the children’s clubs. Offering a child-friendly, shallow pool and plenty of outdoor space to stretch out in, Minnows Pool is the perfect destination for families looking to keep cool and enjoy some quality time in the sunshine.
